Designing case studies that actually convert
Strong case studies aren't galleries — they're structured stories that help prospects imagine working with you.
I’ve reviewed hundreds of portfolio sites. The ones that win projects share a pattern: they make outcomes legible within seconds.
Start with the business problem
Open with context your prospect recognizes — slow onboarding, unclear positioning, declining conversion. Avoid jumping straight into wireframes. Decision-makers want to know you understand their world.
Show your thinking, not just pixels
Include constraints, tradeoffs, and why you chose a direction. This demonstrates seniority better than a polished Dribbble shot alone.
Quantify results when possible
Even directional metrics help: “support tickets down,” “time-to-publish reduced,” “Lighthouse score improved.” If numbers aren’t public, describe qualitative shifts credibly.
End with a relevant CTA
Case study readers are warm leads. Invite them to discuss similar work without generic “get in touch” copy.
Launchfolio ships with a case study template built around this structure so buyers can focus on content, not layout decisions.
